Christopher Frost
Chris is a devoted husband and father. He became a Christian while studying Film and Television Studies at Aberystwyth University. Chris worked as a teacher in South Korea before pursuing a theology degree and serving in full-time ministry for eight years.
Chris recently stepped back from his role as a local pastor to pursue studies in Christian Apologetics and Philosophy through a long-distance program at Biola University, California. When he's not studying, Chris can be found with a camera in hand, running his lens review YouTube channel, cooking, and playing with his young daughter, Rebecca.
Chris is part of the teaching team at Mount Zion Baptist, his local church in Cardigan, Wales. He also speaks at other churches when invited, including Sarnau Community Church, who gather once a month close to Willow Barn.
Kathryn Frost
Kathryn, also known as Kate, is loving a wife and mother, homemaker and graphic designer. Kate takes great joy in creating a peaceful home environment where people feel safe to share life together. She finds fulfilment in strengthening her bond with her husband, Chris, and their daughter, Rebecca.
Kate's commitment to fostering meaningful relationships has helped inspire the birth of Willow Barn Teaching Retreat, with the hope that others can more easily pursue and cultivate their closest connections.
Previously, Kate was part of the team at Ffald Y Brenin Christian Retreat Centre and has completed studies at Covenant College Bible School in Cardiff. Kate also enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with friends, family and church family.
It's been nine years since we promised to spend our lives together. We made this commitment on a sunny afternoon in the Kent countryside, surrounded by our closest friends and family. We feel thankful for the many blessings in our lives, although we've also faced challenges in our communication. We've encountered difficulties understanding why we struggled to connect in certain ways. Despite this, we chose to be intentional and work on our relationship. As a result, we've gained clarity and become closer.
Like many couples, we have enjoyed times of celebration as well as hardships such as miscarriage, the loss of a parent, and multiple relocations. Through the ups and downs we have learned how to communicate and repair from a place of peace and connection. During the course of our marriage, we have sought wisdom from various sources, including reading numerous books, listening to hundreds of podcasts, attending a marriage retreat, completing online courses on marriage and parenting, and seeking professional counselling. We are not a perfect couple, and we acknowledge that we are a work in progress. However, we are enthusiastic about our journey together, the progress we have made, and the opportunity to raise our beautiful daughter, Rebecca.
We believe God's plan for our lives includes flourishing relationships, and His intentions towards us are good. Our relationship with Jesus is fundamental to everything we do. It has empowered us to transition from merely surviving to thriving as we have embraced the example of His servant-hearted love towards us.
